专辑简介： When Sworn Enemy released their first full length “As Real As It Gets” two and a half years ago, a lot of people had to get used to the more metal orientated approach that the band from Queens used in comparison to their debut “Negative Outlook”. Well, those people will surely have to get used to “The Beginning Of The End” as well, because there is more metal in the sound of Sworn Enemy now than there ever was before. The first song, “Forgotten”, will blow you away because of the raging metal parts and the second one, “Scared Of The Unknown”, will definitely remind you of The Haunted or Slayer. Don’t worry, there are still enough pounding mosh parts to get you moving, but I’m just making sure that you’ll know what to expect. The new band members have really added to the tight metallic sound that Sworn Enemy plays, but it also made them drift away further from their hardcore roots. Sal’s voice will never be the same again as on “Negative Outlook” (because, let’s face it, he was ill at the time when that was recorded) and on the new record he sounds just as raw and high pitched as he did on “As Real As It Gets”. It could be my promo copy, but I have the feeling that the vocals are somewhat in the back of the mix. It’s all guitars and drums that fill my ears, which is pretty much what the band focuses on musically nowadays, although the songs still have the raw lyrics that we know so well from these guys. The bottom line is that “The Beginning Of The End” is a good metal album with some hardcore influences, instead of the other way around.
