The show takes place in the quite distant future, as opposed to the movie's not-so-distant future. The show centers on a recently reactivated RoboCop, who was decommissioned for some time. Details are sketchy about why. RoboCop gains a new partner in Special Agent Nancy Miner, replacing Officer Ann Lewis from the movies. At first she's skeptical of having RoboCop as a partner, until she realizes that he's not all machine. Rounding out the cast is Dr. Cornelius Neumier, the eccentric sandle-wearing scientist responsible for giving RoboCop a new lease on life.
