The show premiered in 1987. It aired Sunday afternoons, and was moved up to prime-time in the show's second season. The show followed the daily lives of a group of students attending Degrassi Junior High, a fictional public school in Toronto. The show dealt with realistic issues that kids even today have like drugs, sex, peer pressure, eating disorders, teen pregnancy, and alcohol.
