　　很久很久以前，在一个遥捻远的大沼泽里，沼泽里住着一只叫史莱克的绿色怪物，过着悠闲的生活。有一天，他平静的生活被几个不速之客打破，它们是一只眼神不怎么好的小老鼠，一只大坏狼和三只无家可归的小猪，他们都是从童话王国里逃出来的，那里现在被一个叫法尔奎德的恶棍霸占了，他还抢去美丽的公主菲奥娜，强迫她做自己的新娘。 　　史莱克决定帮助这些可怜的朋友，更希望能够见到它们描绘的美丽的公主。于是，他上路了，除了这些朋友之外，他还有一个很特别的伙伴--爱说俏皮话的骡子唐基，这只骡子除了让它闭上他那张爱唠叨的嘴之外，愿意为史莱克做一切事…… 　　当然后面发生的事情不用多说你也能猜的到，史莱克和它的朋经历了种种危险，期间还和一条会喷喷火的看守恶龙决斗，最后终于完成了他英雄旧美人的壮举……

　　和上一集雌以及所有童话一样，这部《怪物史莱克2》也是这样开始的：很久很久以前……灶史莱克和他拯救的费奥娜公主结婚了。夫妻俩甩下超级电灯泡加扩音机的驴子，去渡他们幸福浪漫的蜜月。小两口卿卿我我，甚是甜蜜。当他们返回沼泽地，收到一封来自"遥远国"的邀请函。费奥娜的父母哈沃尔德国王和莉莲王后想请分别许久的女儿和从未谋面的乘龙快婿回娘家看看。于是这对怪物夫妻乘坐马车浩浩荡荡地赶往"遥远国"，当然还得带上他们最丢不起的驴子。 　　"遥远国"举国欢庆的时刻到了，成千上万的国民开始到处张灯结彩、敲锣打鼓。电视台也将盛况空前地直播这场"世纪回归"。正当人群兴高采烈地准备迎接美丽的公主和帅气的驸马爷时，居然从马车上走出一对怪物来…… 　　国王和王后万万没想到美若天仙的掌上明珠也变成了胖乎乎的恐龙，姑爷更是打着灯笼也找不到的丑角。受到惊吓的二老发现灾难才刚刚开始……。 　　国王很早和仙女教母谈好了条件，要让费奥娜嫁给她的儿子白马王子。白马王子出马，本应该是马到成功的，但是没想到半路杀出个程咬金抢先一步屠龙救美了。于是国王决定雇佣大名鼎鼎的怪物杀手穿靴子的猫，希望他能把他们的绊脚石给除掉。

　　要说这个世界上最没有责任感的家伙，史莱克是第二，没人敢称自己是第一……想让这只混身都散发着沼泽臭气的绿色妖怪担负一个国家的命运？简直比做梦还难，他巴不得在沼泽地里过一辈子与世无争的日子呢。可是当史莱克与菲奥纳公主相爱并成亲之后，成为"遥远王国"的统治者似乎就成了他必须要面对的未来了。然而让史莱克想不到的是，这一天会来得这样早。 　　史莱克的岳父大人哈罗德国王病重，无心国事……史莱克开始了一系列的训练课程，为他未来的国王身份开始着手准备。已经自由惯了的史莱克怎甘心受到如此约束，让他的下半辈子都像一个真正的王族成员那般装深沉玩老练，他宁可去死。 　　史莱克冥思苦想，就为了将继承王位的事推个一干二净，没想到还真被他抓到了一个机会。原来菲奥纳并不是王室的惟一正统继续人，她还有一个下落不明的堂弟阿蒂，是一名曾被"遥远王国"驱逐的孤儿。如今阿蒂正在一所中世纪学校里读高中，史莱克只要将他带回，恢复他继承人的身份……他似乎看到了和菲奥纳自由的好日子就在不远的未来向他们招手呢。 　　似乎还嫌不够乱似的，我们的菲奥纳又带来了另一个惊喜：史莱克要做爸爸了！从治理一个国家到未来的准爸爸，已经一团糟的史莱克觉得自己随时有可能崩溃，于是他离开了皇宫，动身去说服阿蒂回国……当史莱克带着他的驴子好友和穿靴子的猫离开了"遥远王国"之后，他的宿敌白马王子又摇着他那个帅气的脑袋杀回来了，假意打算用他那接近负数的智商从绿妖怪手中"拯球"这个国度。谁说女子不如男，菲奥纳在史莱克的身后结成了一个坚实的"公主同盟"，形形色色的公主们各怀绝技，她们帮助史莱克扭转了败局，让故事再次有了一个圆满的结局--从此以后，王子和公主永远幸福地生活在了一起。
