I was introduced to the piano, guitar and the art of writing songs & recording music as far back as I can remember. In the 60's, my parents were in the folk group, "The Back Porch Majority" then went on to write some award winning jingles as well as working with other artists. So I spent a fair amount of time in & around recording studios watching my father write, produce & record or with my mother listening to her write & sing as well. As a teenager, I began writing songs on the guitar and piano, but I was always too shy to get up and sing. So, I played guitar in couple local Los Angeles bands, made a few indie albums, had some great times with some great people, but always felt like something was missing. Unfortunately, in a short amount of time I lost a few people who were very close to me. I took a deep breath and thought about my own life. What have I contributed and what might I leave behind. I felt it was time to get over my stage fright and start singing my own songs. I found a comfortable stage at The Hotel Cafein Hollywood, where local singer songwriters were playing nightly. I drew inspiration and became friends with other local artists who were also getting their start at the Cafe as many others shared the same passion in songwriting as I did. In 2006, I recorded my first album "The Love In Every Bar", with Producers Thom Flowers and Emile Millar. I had some incredible musicians from bands of Ryan Adams, Fiona Apple, Dwight Yoakum & others. In 2008, I recorded an acoustic/piano 6 song Ep titled "Home". Singer Songwriter Holly Brook added her beautiful voice on a few tracks and my acoustic version of Springsteen's 'I'm on Fire" hit several online & radio charts here in the US, UK, Australia, Asia, South America & Africa. Also in 2008, I went away for a few months to face some personal issues. I began writing songs about addiction, loss, personal struggle & change. These batch of songs would later become my next full-length album, Everything Must Go. This time around, I left California as I followed my long time Producer Thom Flowers out to Shire Recorders in Austin, Texas to record & mix, "Everything Must Go" which was released in April of 2010. Within this time, I've met some some extraordinary people and have been lucky enough to share the stage with some of my favorite artists. My loyal group of online supporters along with a few of my songs chosen for T.V & radio, allows me to continue writing, recording and performing music, and I am truly grateful for all of this.
