This despite the fact that at least a quarter of the songs contained within are as folk as Kenny G is jazz! There’s no disputing the “folk” label when you’re talking about classics like Catch the Wind by Donovan, Homeward Bound and I Am a Rock (Simon & Garfunkel), Donna Donna (Joan Baez), Vincent (Don McLean) and Morning Has Broken (Cat Stevens). But Judy Collins’ The Wedding? Surely not! Fortunately, Let’s Folk Again’s target buyers (presumably the same ones who caused Let’s Folk to fly off the shelves) don’t stay awake at night fretting about incorrect labels, ignorant record compilers or Freddy Fender’s folk credentials. All they want is bang for buck and some good tunes to bring the past flooding back. And this one delivers that quite consistently ... there are some real stunning songs here. So now let’s just sit back and await the arrival of yet another sequel. Let’s Folk Some More, perhaps?
