Having parted from Island records for another island - holing up on the Osea Island in the Thames, 'March Of The Lonely' is a self-released album with Martin assuming total control over his musical vision. What this amounts to is an overwrought album from an acutely sensitive soul - in the Suicide League of artists most likely to top themselves, Martin Gretch is a likely contender. Themes ruminate on the old chestnuts - of life, death and beauty which Martin toasts to a charred shell. The tone is lonely and melancholic, and ambiance is as though recorded and inspired by dwelling in solitude in a stony cold castle or old Norman Church with Martin's voice ringing through the spaces, at times with a Monk's tonal delivery, indeed, the pace throughout is that of a Monk's walking meditation with little musical embellishment to a melancholic acoustic guitar. 专辑曲目: 1.
