The series follows Peter Kingdom, a small-town solicitor whose work revolves around cases brought by the eclectic populace of Market Shipborough.
Respected country solicitor Peter Kingdom runs a small practice in Market Shipborough with ungrateful apprentice, Kyle, for the eccentric people of Norfolk. Peter lives with his slightly crazy sister, Beatrice, and recently lost his half-brother, Simon, under mysterious circumstances.

In his first drama for ITV since Jeeves and Wooster in the 90s, Stephen Fry plays a delightful village solicitor in Norfolk, in a picturesque setting and living a wonderful listed house while driving an Alvis.
Surrounded by eccentrics including a nymphomaniac syster just out of rehab played by Hermione Norris (Spooks), a dotty aunt in a home (Phyllida Law) and a bizarre collection of local clients.
To top it all, his brother is missing, presumed dead, when his clothes turn up on the beach.
Drama series starring Stephen Fry as Peter Kingdom, a respected small-town solicitor struggling to cope following the disappearance of his brother and business partner Simon, believed drowned after his clothes were found on a beach. His life is complicated further by the arrival of his disruptive half-sister, recently released from rehab and determined to wreak havoc. Soon it seems the mystery surrounding his brother's disappearance may be about to deepen. With Celia Imrie, Karl Davies (Robert Sugden in Emmerdale), Hermione Norris, Tony Slattery and Phyllida Law.
