For the recording, close microphone placement was employed, utilized B&K and Neumann microphones along with the SPL/Brauner Atmos System for the 5.1 rendition of the grand piano. The module provides for six discrete channels of audio in 16/24-bit/48kHz resolution. Mapped in whole tones, up to ten velocity layers provide a natural sound quality over the whole dynamic range. Although optimized for full 5.1 surround sound, the user can also choose to load a subset piano consisting of 1.5GB stereo front L/R samples.
