1952年，第一部超人连续剧 Adventures of Superman在电视上开始播映。随着这部连续剧的热播，扮演超人的George Reeves随之成为当时的人气偶像。他的人气一直持续至今。The Adventures of Superman总共拍摄了107集，一直播映到了1957年，成为了继超人的广播剧之后，第二长寿的超人系列。这个长达6个季度的超人连续剧，见证了电视广播从黑白到彩色的飞跃。超人也是在这一系列中，第一次以红蓝两色的经典形象展现在人们的面前。当然了，彩色电视广播是1964才发明的，所以观众所看到整个系列的片子都是黑白的，不得不说这是一个很大的遗憾。该片从第二季开始，幕后制作班底进行了大换血，超人漫画的编辑Mort Weisinger也加入了他们的行列。而演员方面，从第二季开始，扮演Lois的演员从Pyllis Coates换成了在84年电影系列中扮演Lois的Noel Neill。第一季的第20集的发生在唐人街，虽然其中对华裔的描写看了不是很舒服，但是The Adventures of Superman却成为了第一部出现华裔的超人剧集。有趣的是，The Adventures of Superman和Fleischer Superman Cartoons一样，超人不会飞，也没有luthor,氪星，和日后的那些超级罪犯的出现，超人的对手都比较弱，他做的事情以今天的角度看，更像一个警察。从而使得这个电视版里的Clark更贴近观众，给人亲切的感觉。在连续6个季度的连播后，George Reeves成为了当时观众公认的钢铁之子。至今，年长的欧美的观众们还念念不忘黑白屏幕里的那个George Reeves。
超人的第一部电影推出的4年后,第一部超人电视剧开播,一共播出了104集.主演George Reeves也因此一炮而红.不过他最后也遇到了和Kirlk 一样的问题,很难在其他影视作品中得到角色.1959年,他被人发现在家遭枪杀身亡(另种说法是自杀).由于他的死因一直是个迷,好莱乌在三四十年后拍了一部关于他死亡的悬疑片。
When underground beings explore the surface world from a deep oil well and inadvertantly cause a panic, only Superman can prevent a tragedy.
Reporters Clark Kent and Lois Lane arrive in the small town of Silsby to witness the drilling of the world's deepest oil well. The drill, however, has penetrated the underground home of a race of small, furry people who then come to the surface at night to look around. The fact that they glow in the dark scares the townfolk, who form a mob, led by the vicious Luke Benson, intent on killing the strange people. Only Superman has a chance to prevent this tragedy.
"Faster than a speeding bullet! More powerful than a locomotive! Able to leap tall buildings at a single bound!" Mild-mannered reporter for the Daily Planet is really the greatest superhero of them all who "fights a never-ending battle for truth, justice, and the American way!"
