This Limited edition of ATOMIC includes the bonus Enhanced CD DIRTY MARTINI SAMPLER which contains regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files. With the hook-packed ATOMIC, Lit firmly throttles any notion of a sophomore jinx on its second major-label offering. While still showing a penchant for snappy songs with oodles of choppy and catchy guitar chords that make fans of Green Day and Blink-182 swoon, this Orange County quartet looked to the classic rock icons of their youth for inspiration this time out. Pumped full of harmonies and swinging hooks, "Everything's Cool" reverberates with swinging British Invasion hooks while the acoustic guitar and string arrangements of "Happy In The Meantime" finds Lit's Popoff sibs making like The Everly Brothers having tea with Elvis Costello. Elsewhere, these vintage-clothing-loving punks keep the volume on eleven for the STP post-grunge of "Lipstick And Bruises," Weezer-flavored "Drop D" and sweeping Queen-like pomp-ballad "Slip." Choosing to focus primarily on the age-old issue of broken relationships, Lit keeps its sense of humor intact amidst the Beach Boys harmonies and crunchy chords of "Addicted."
