He started his singing career as a singer of jazz and rock. In 1979, he was "discovered" by conductor Rene Clemencic who persuaded him to join the Clemencic Consort. After a few years with the Consort, Lesne moved on to a solo career becoming one of the most celebrated countertenors of our time. As a soloist, he has worked with conductors such as William Christie, Jordi Savall, Marcel Peres, Philippe Herreweghe, Marc Minkowski, and others. In 1985, Lesne founded his own group: Il Seminario Musicale. Since then, he has devoted the bulk of his time to this group, both as a singer and as a music director. Il Seminario Musicale specializes in Italian and French baroque repertoir. Many of their recordings have won prestigious prizes such as Diapason d'Or, ffff Telerama, Choc du Monde de la Musique and Timbre de Platine. In addition to working with his own group, Lesne occasionally collaborates with his sister Brigitte, who is herself a fine alto.~转自网络

关于此张专辑的评价，偷懒了，直接贴上一位外国友人的评论（著作权归其所有）：This is without a doubt one of Lesne's finest recordings. The already flawless compositions are elevated even higher by his exquisite ornamentation. Bononcini was a master of the genre and after listening to these compositions it should be apparent why he gave Handel such a run for his money. These works are easy to appreciate, far more so than Charpentier's in my opinion. Dramatic, Melodic, very bouncy harmonic rhythms, poignant slow movements - what more could you want? The instrumental ensemble is on par with Lesne's fabulous interpretations, the 'cello and trio sonate are equally as impressive as the cantate. I would give this six stars out five, it has been one of my most treasured recordings for over ten years. It would be wise to snatch this up before the flaky Veritas ceases to publish it!~转自网络
