Making them unique in the boy dominated punk scene is the bold presence of 22-year old singer Ash Costello, who provides distinct and empowering vocals to a rock band that can really back it up. The result is "My Dear", the debut album that Alternative Press calls "Punk with a nice Vampira bite," and which prompted AbsolutePunk.com to declare them "A real contender for `Next Big Thing.'" New Years Day will roll out their sharp-spiked pop punk nationwide on this summer's Vans Warped Tour starting on June 28, following dates in April and May opening for Ozma and William Tell. The first single off "My Dear" is the infections pop punk anthem "I Was Right." Its edgy companion video is directed by VMA winner Shane Drake (Panic!
