专辑介绍： 现在“德州死亡”这个词在全世界各地的死亡金属迷中已经可谓是耳熟能详了，而Devourment作为这一流派的“领袖”、“祖师”、“帝王”更是受到BRUTAL DEATH乐迷的狂热推崇。乐队之所以大获成功，完全要得益于乐队的第一张、也是唯一的一张作品（后来在CORPSE GRISTLE发表的“1.3.8.”是乐队以前所有作品的重发专辑，严格意义上并不是一张完整的正式作品。）。这张作品发表于1999年，由大名鼎鼎的United Guttural发行。这张作品的价值在于，推出后不久获得一致的赞誉，各地乐队争相模仿，而且即使放在2004年的今天来听，仍是一张无人出其右的、BRUTAL/SICK到了无以复加地步的极限残忍死亡作品。以上依然是抄的！ Gory, mind-splattering, sickening and repulsive Death/Grind from the oozing brains of DGR! After I heard the first track, "Festering Vomitous Mass", off of Devourment's MOLESTING THE DECAPITATED, for the first time my jaw dropped, my body froze, and I simply said "Holy shit, what did Evan have for breakfast!". The song starts off with a 25-second segment of an interview, then proceeds with a short distorted guitar lick, a pause, and then that's when the whole band comes together as one with the incogitable guttural sounds of the vocals and the extreme haste and perfection of every beat of the drum.
