at the gates是一支来自瑞典国宝级旋律死亡金属乐队，at the gates在保持旋律性的基础上，更为凶狠，残酷一些。有时甚至让我感觉有点黑金的味道，尤其是主唱标志性的撕心裂肺唱法让人过耳不忘。这张专辑包括了6首录音室作品和3首现场作品。听了两遍觉得3首现场作品比较入耳，录音室作品反倒不太好听，有待继续体验。乐队的整体配合与编曲水平不如slaughter of the soul。
