Jazzmatazz系列中有数Vol.1为最为出彩, Guru在Hip hop Scene是一个比较重要的人物, 从而才有能耐请来一大帮客席乐手, 这也是Jazzmatazz得以如此血肉丰满的原因, guestlist包括Acid Jazz乐手Carleen Anderson和Ronny Jordan以及四人组N'Dea Davenport, Jazz-Funk乐手Roy Ayers, Smooth Soul的小号手Donald Byrd, Post-Bop好手Courtney Pine和Lonnie Liston Smith, 最后还有法国Hip hop新锐Mc Solar. 　　 Jazzmatazz Vol.1作为一张Jazz-Rap唱片, 但幸好没有把一些底层粗俗Rap的成分糟蹋了爵士, Guru联袂法国Hip Hop好手Mc Solar复杂的rappin'部分非常舒服, 明显力度放轻了很多, 是一种轻盈的姿态而来, 给人一种warm light groove的感觉. 但这次无疑是喧宾夺主, 一众乐手使得每首歌的编排都细致迥异, 让人"耳"不暇接, 特别trumpet和piano部分最为精彩, 基本上每首曲目的mood都trumpet和piano来主导的 1.
