D-Loc met Daddy X through "a friend of a friend" and began hanging out, going to clubs, and partying at X's house. Daddy X had been in the music industry previous, as a member of Humble Gods, as well as working with other early Hip-Hop acts, such as Eazy E. Soon enough D-Loc and Johnny Richter began to hang out with Brad X on a more daily basis. After one day of hanging out in Richter's VW van, Richter as the silent type began to rap to the classic hip-hop tracks from the radio by (one of which was the song "Hey Luva" by LL Cool J), shocking both X and Loc. After hitting every rhyme, Daddy X, decided that they should record some songs, and try to perform at the local pubs bars, and clubs.
