With the Motor City Drum Ensemble DJ-Kicks receiving rave reviews across the board and the just-announced Scuba mix stirring up heavy anticipation, closing out the year with a new mix from UK breakthrough producer Gold Panda almost feels like a victory lap, but it’s more than that. Though not a ‘DJ’ per se, Panda (birth name Derwin Panda) has dug deep to assemble a stirring and of-the-moment mix featuring recognized masters like Ramadanman and Zomby as well as some less familiar names which none the less deliver the goods (full tracklist below). The mix also features an exclusive new Gold Panda track, “An Iceberg Hurtled Northward Through Clouds,” which opens the mix.
