守护英雄是1996年於SEGA SATURN主机上所推出之2D动作格斗游戏，这款游戏可说是SS上大乱斗型格斗动作游戏的代表作。不但拥有卡通风格的人物造形，在单一画面上还能显示数量极多的游戏角色。本次的GBA版守护英雄是GBA原创新作，故事背景为前作之后的剧情，不但保留了SS版守护英雄的特色，更活用了GBA的扩大缩小等图形处理能力，来重现当年SS版的表现，游戏还支援多达4人的连线对战。
守护英雄除了拥有20名角色、还有超过160种华丽的攻击方式与眾多令人惊喜的多人场景。此外，容易上手的操作搭配深度的战斗和冒险系统，让初级玩家与进阶玩家都能快速上手体验游戏乐趣。
