Belgian trio Colour Kane are a new breed of dream popsters. Lush, cascading guitars and sweet soaring vocals are propelled by driving bass and electronic beats as Colour Kane’s music draws a wonderful arc that both defines and divides melancholy and bliss. Where so much dream pop is described through aesthetic alone, their debut album A Taste Of radiates atmosphere and shifting emotion, wrapped in jewelled blankets and honey gauze. Featuring a collaboration with Robin Guthrie of Cocteau Twins fame, “A Taste Of” is laden with honey coated, magisterial guitars, sweeping electronics and lush vocals. The title track encapsulates the album with its exquisite interplaying guitars ringing out against the ethereal voice of Marjan Snykers.
