专辑名称：The Rippingtons 作品集 专辑歌手：The Rippingtons 发行日期：1987 - 2006 专辑语种：英语 专辑类型：Smooth Jazz 专辑介绍： The Rippingtons Russ Freeman是现代JAZZ组合Rippingtons的创始者和领导人，在纳什维尔（美国田纳西洲首府），10岁的Russ Freeman就开始弹奏吉他，由于受到在world of studio工作室里他父亲的一个朋友-------吉他手John pell的影响，在他16岁时就已经有在录音室录音的记录。1978年移居洛杉机后，Russ Freeman就学于加洲大学艺术系，1985年他在他的首张专辑《Nocturnal Playground》中充分展示了他在吉他上的造诣，以及他在作曲及录音创作上的才能。第二年他创办了Rippingtons，并且制作出了广受欢迎了《Moonlighting》专辑，从此他的事业和Rippingtons组合一起踏如正轨。 其后Russ Freeman开始忙碌于写作，巡展及制作方面的计划，在1996年Russ Freeman和他的合作伙伴Andi Hoeard一起将事业推到了顶峰，网罗到了诸如Paul Taylor，Eric Marienthal，Phil Perry，以及Regina Belle等一些有才华的艺术家。“绿洲”Smooth Jazz奖项授予了Russ Freeman终生成就奖以及2001年的最佳制作人奖。而Rippingtons组合则被Billboard评为2000年最佳组合，同时蝉联2年“绿洲”Smooth Jazz奖项最佳组合称号（2001年及2002年)。 这个乐团的灵魂人物应该就是吉他手Russ Freeman,而日本SAX 手Jeff Kashiwa算是第二号人物。由于乐队成员众多，而且演奏的时候非常热闹，所以在他们早期作品中有“Big Band”的影子，尤其是那首名曲“Tourist in Paradise”。在他们所有专辑的封面都用了这个外貌奇特的爵士猫， 很有意思。 专辑
